What is caustic soda flakes?
Caustic soda flakes is a well know chemical material and basically alkali base its not organic product it means we can find naturally in nature so it is producing in factory the main raw material is sodium carbonate with calcium hydroxide, physically its snow white , solid , uniform shape like flakes and odorless which easily soluble in water and purity is %99 without any heavy metal caustic soda easily absorb moisture in the air .
Also known as lye , sodium hydroxide and its chemical formula is NaOH.The word caustic means corrosive .Its a basic compound used in chemistry and many industries . It exits in liquid or solid forms its solid sate is in the form of straws and beads. In the liquid state is in the form of an aqueous and slippery solution. Although its not known how Caustic was discovered by Humphrey Day in 1807.Caustic which has itchy effect when touched with bare hands .Doesn’t occur naturally but is very easy to manufacture. In terms of production, we see that there are two types. We see that 50% caustic solution is obtained by the displacement reaction of calcium hydroxide and sodium carbonate, and more commonly by the electrolysis of table salt (sodium chloride).

Packing of caustic soda
Caustic soda easily absorb moisture in this case packing is one of the most important process when processing in factory , so for protecting quality of cargo we are using laminated polypropylene bag and pp bag to prevent water and moisture enter the bags and for final packing we choose jumbo bag/wrapped pallets /tin/can according to customer requirement . bags weight are 25kgs , small bags normally put in jumbo bag or big bag for easy handling, 20 jumbo bag stuff in 20ft container , total 25000 kgs equal to 1000 small bags .

Caustic soda sell based on incoterms different delivery terms which customers are interested as below
- CFR – it mean caustic soda flakes deliver to client port of discharge and all responsibility of shipment is by seller till container reach.
- FOB – it means caustic soda seller is no longer responsible for shipping costs and cargo deliver in port of loading to buyer .
- DDU – it means caustic soda seller is responsible for ensuring goods arrive safely to a destination; the buyer is responsible for import duties.
